We are pleased to announce a large river symposium that will cover multiple themes and encourage attendance from international scientists and different disciplines. Sessions will be a mix of invited and contributed talks. Current themes include:
- Mississippi River-Yangtze River collaborations. This session, sponsored by AFS and the Chinese Academy of Sciences continues the long-standing symposium to find synergies among the two large river basins. This will build on a previous symposium held in Chongqing, China in 2018. This session will be a series of invited and contributed talks.
- Building resilience in working rivers through connectivity: This session, sponsored by AFS and the International Society of River Science, will focus on how connectivity can help build resilience in working rivers throughout the globe. This session will be a series of keynote, invited, and contributed talks.
INVITATION: We also invite presenters from all aspects of river conservation and management world-wide. Topics should be related to rivers and their watersheds, and may include:
- Invasive species
- Habitat management
- River hydrology management
- Urban stream restoration
- Interjurisdictional river management
Presenters will need to submit their abstracts through the AFS portal. More information can be found at the Call For Papers. All presenters will need to be registered for the meeting.
