What is the abstract submission deadline?

Abstracts for Symposium oral presentations and for the Contributed Papers and Poster sessions must be submitted by March 20, 2020. Abstract acceptance notifications will be sent no later than April 17, 2020.

 

If arriving after registration closes on Sunday, how do I gain access to the opening network event?

Simply show your barcode or email confirmation at the entrance of the social to gain admission.

 

Can Continuing Education be bought separately from the actual AFS meeting?

Yes, you can purchase CE courses without registering for the actual meeting. Please contact Lauren Maza at AFS HQ if you have any questions on registering for the CE courses at [email protected].

 

Spawning Run/Carcass Crawl

When and where is the Spawning Run?

The spawning run will be on the morning of Wednesday, September 2, 2020. More specific to follow. The route will go along the beautiful Scioto River near downtown Columbus. Transportation will be available between the Hyatt Regency and the run.

 

If it’s raining, will the race be cancelled?

No, but it will feel more like a splash and dash. The event is rain or shine.

Lodging & Accommodations

What is the main lodging for the conference?

The main lodging for the conference is the Hyatt Regency which is directly connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

 

Will childcare be available?

We are currently working with a few providers to secure childcare and the information will be updated as it becomes available.

 

Will I have access to Wi-Fi?

Yes, we will have internet in the common spaces of both the Hyatt Regency and the Greater Columbus Convention Center. We are also offering internet in the Expo Hall.

 

Local Transportation and Dining

How do I get from the airport to my hotel or the convention center and back?

Rental vehicles are available at the airport. We will be working with them to get you the best rates. Ride sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft also operate in Columbus. We will be updating this information once we get the best deal for you that we can.

 

Where can I get something to eat or drink before or after the meeting and/or networking events?

A food court is located in the Greater Columbus Convention Center. We are also working diligently to create a map of the local restaurants, sight-seeing attractions, and stores to help you navigate the city. Updates will be posted when this information is ready.

 

I like to plan ahead. What all meals will be provided with my registration?

The meeting will provide daily morning and afternoon breaks in the Expo Hall (Battelle Ballroom). We have the opening reception on Sunday, trade show and poster reception on Monday, the student event on Tuesday, and the Grand Reception at COSI on Wednesday, all have light food provided.
