Calling all high school, undergraduate, or graduate students who have recently completed research and are interested in competing for the AFS Best Student Presentation or Poster Awards for 2021!
Plan now to apply for consideration as a finalist in this prestigious Society award! To be selected as a finalist for the presentation award, students will need to submit an extended abstract AND an advisor support letter stating that the research project is in a completion stage. Examples of extended abstracts can be found on the AFS Education Section webpage (https://education.fisheries.org). For consideration as finalists for the poster award, students will need to submit the abstract they submitted for the Annual Meeting AND an advisor support letter stating that the research project is in a completion stage.
Applications should be emailed to Melissa Wuellner (BSP Co-chair) at [email protected] by 8/16/21. Applications will be evaluated following the criteria provided on the Education Section webpage. Finalists will be notified within four weeks of the deadline.
All finalists will need to be registered for the AFS Annual Meeting but do not have to be present at the meeting. If selected, recordings of presentations and posters will need to be uploaded to the AFS conference system no later than one week prior to the start of the meeting. Judges will review the finalists’ recordings and announce the winners during the annual meeting.
