Hello, my name is Adrian Reyna Arroyos. I am a first-generation American working as an Aquatic Biologist out of San Antonio, Texas. Growing up in the city, I was exposed to immense culture, historic landmarks, and beautiful environmental landscapes. This exposure fostered a connection and appreciation for the people and environment of this unique city. It is what led me to pursue my job with the San Antonio River Authority, where our day-to-day goals are dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and enjoyable place for our community. On my spare time I enjoy drawing, coloring, and playing with my dogs. My background, hobbies, and love for conservation work directly tie into why I participated in creating the logo for this years’ annual American Fisheries Society meeting. The intention of the logo was to represent the amalgamation between community, culture and environmental awareness.
The logo for the AFS 155th Annual Meeting embodies three core elements of San Antonio: community, culture, and environmental awareness. The skyline in the background features buildings that span the city’s history, showcasing its ongoing transformation and collaborative spirit. This city has brought together people from all over the world, each contributing their own unique stories and influences. The color palette of the buildings reflects the vibrant Hispanic culture that flows through the city, a source of inspiration for my work. Finally, the river that flows through the heart of the city, along with the Guadalupe Bass and native freshwater mussels, symbolizes the mission to integrate human and natural ecosystems in pursuit of harmony.
